What We Do & How We Do It

Timing and start date

At TCC, we start working for you immediately. Following an initial meeting and after proposals and specifications are complete, we set about searching for the right candidate for you. In a typical assignment, we aim to present clients with a short-list of talented people within 8 weeks or less. We are committed to providing a personal service to both clients and candidates, and we will stay in regular contact throughout the duration of the assignment. Clients can expect to hear from us on at least a weekly basis.

In some cases, we will present one or two exceptional candidates for a role. Should the client require it, this method could significantly shorten the search process.

Responsibility for the assignment

Each new client will be allocated a consultant who will work with them throughout the duration of the assignment. This consultant will act as the primary contact and will, over the period, work to develop an intimate understanding of the client, its organisational structure and culture, and its requirements. Other TCC consultants, along with our global network ‘SearchNet International’ and other search resources are utilised to ensure that assignments are fulfilled to the client’s satisfaction.

Identifying the right candidates

Our approach to finding the right candidate is thorough. We begin by making discrete, direct contact with around 50 information sources and potential candidates in target companies. We make use of our international team of researchers, our network of contacts, and other sources including our existing International Talent Community. We also thoroughly follow up any leads provided by the client.

In our regular meetings with potential candidates, we use the information that the client has provided as the basis for our discussions. We combine a deep understanding of the sector, the organisation and the role our clients want to fill with information from specialist contacts. Candidates are evaluated on their previous business experience, their passion for the role and proven examples of how their achievements have impacted their previous and current employers.

Affirmative and pro-active searching

We are committed to cultural diversity, honesty, respect, commitment, and support. Affirmative, pro-activity is at the heart of what we do, and we work hard to present our clients with a list of diverse candidates to fill the available role. We treat both clients and candidates with fairness and respect at all times, and we work hard to ensure our treatment of candidates reflects positively on the image of our clients.

Interviews and reports

We will conduct detailed personal interviews with at least 10 potential candidates, often with a Partner of SearchNet International. We interview every candidate thoroughly and face-to-face. On the basis of these interviews, we aim to produce a shortlist of three to four of the most suitable people who, in our judgement, have the ability and the experience, and represent the relevant cultural fit for our client.

Before presenting candidates to clients, we will provide a detailed and confidential report on each person along with an analysis of their experience, strengths, weaknesses and motivations. We will also provide evidence of the candidate’s suitability for the role.

Planned remuneration

It is understood that planned remuneration provided by the client is indicative. Clients can be flexible regarding the package offered with the aim of attracting exceptionally talented and qualified candidates. We will report the present remuneration package of candidates in considerable detail, and we will also advise on their minimum remuneration expectations.

Confidentiality

At TCC we pride ourselves on the integrity and discretion with which we do business. All our work is conducted on a highly confidential basis, and with the utmost respect for candidates and clients.
